Frequently asked questions

Everything about getting a compliant passport or visa photo — and what happens if it isn’t accepted.

Getting it right

What if my photo gets rejected?

We check your photo against the official published specification for your document — head size, dimensions, background and more — before you pay, and show you exactly what passes, so you only download once it looks right. The final decision always rests with the issuing authority, and acceptance can also depend on how it’s printed and your pose on the day. It’s your responsibility to make sure the photo is fit for purpose before you use or submit it.

How do I get the best result?

Use a recent, front-facing photo in even light against a plain wall, with a neutral expression, eyes open and no glasses. Our live checklist flags lighting, background, head size and open eyes so you can retake before you pay.

Are your specifications accurate?

Every document preset is built from an authoritative, published source and verified before it goes live. We add countries and document types regularly.

Can I make a photo for my child or baby?

Yes — an adult can upload and create a photo on behalf of a child they’re responsible for.

Your files & printing

What do I actually get?

Three print-ready files: a single digital photo for online and e-Visa uploads, an A5 sheet and a 4×6″ sheet — both tiled with corner cut marks so they’re easy to trim. You can reprint them as many times as you like.

Where do I print them?

At home on photo paper, or at any photo shop, pharmacy or print kiosk (for example Boots, CVS, Walgreens or 7-Eleven). The 4×6″ and A5 sheets are sized for standard print services.

What photo formats can I upload?

JPEG, PNG or HEIC, up to 8 MB — straight from your phone is fine (iPhone HEIC works; many tools don’t accept it).

Can I download my photo again later?

Your downloaded file is yours to keep. We also keep a backup for 7 days so you can re-download it from “My photos” if you lose your copy.

Price, account & privacy

How much does it cost?

It’s free until 1 June 2026, then $5 per photo. No subscription and no per-photo extras.

Do I need an account?

You sign in with Google to download — there’s no password to set up. Signing in lets us save your files so you can re-download them.

How do I pay?

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. During the launch promotion no payment is needed.

Do you offer refunds?

Our photos are digital files delivered immediately, so we don’t offer refunds. Please check your photo is fit for purpose before you download and use it — the free compliance check before payment is there to help you get it right first time.

What happens to my selfie?

It’s processed on our own private servers to create your passport photo — never sent to a third-party AI service, never used to train any model, and never sold. We strip metadata and don’t keep your uploaded selfie after processing. See our Privacy Policy for detail.
